Blood Dreams - Kay Hooper (Romantic Suspense Reading Challenge)

Dani doesn’t want to hunt this killer. She doesn’t want to risk the life she’s made for herself, or her hard-won peace. But she doesn’t have a choice. Because his bloody rampage has hit far too close to home. Because Dani alone commands a weapon powerful enough to destroy him.
And because Dani knows something even Bishop doesn’t. Dani knows how the hunt ends. It ends in fire. And blood. And death. 

What she doesn’t know is who will survive.

I really enjoy Reading Kay Hooper's books in the Bishop CSU series. This one, however, didn't feel as fresh and engaging as some of her other titles. That's is probably why, a couple of weeks after having read it, I am struggling to remembre the story.

 

Sadly, because I really like him, we have very little of Bishop in this one. Most of the story is spent watching the serial killer's actions (a bit creepy I have to say) or inside Dani's dreams. It felt to me that we get more of the killers actions and less of his motivations, which I thought was a shame. The book (first in a trilogy) does introduce the Haven organisation which, I undertand to be a private organisation for hire with much of the same qualities and intelligence as the CSU.

 

I did like Dani and her relationship with Marc and her twin sister but I ended up being a bit disappointed as this didn't feel as gripping as some of her other books and the ending, without wanting to give much away, didn't provide me with as much information as I wanted too.

 

In the end I think this one is more for Hooper fans than for the general romantic suspense reader, definitely not where I would recommend reading her.
