Buying More Than You Can Read
It has been brought to my attention that I'm always getting books every week but I don't read as many as I receive. The question was why do I need so many?
I suppose there is no logical answer for someone who is not as fond as books as I am. The thing is I like books, I like to browse and look for new books that may seem interesting. If I find them I want to have them! It doesn't matter that I wont read them this week or this month or even this year. I have to have them in my shelves so when the mood strikes I might get them out and read them.
Doesn't this make sense for you bookaholics out there?

I am not meant to be buying books at the moment, so I have managed to only acquire 12 books so far this month. I have read 15 though, so my TBR list is going down! (I say acquired because I didn't buy all of them - some of them were review books!) Of course, most of them were books from the library so there is a flaw in my logic somewhere!
ReplyDeleteOh yes ! We are totally addicted to books... Only yesterday I've bought another one (well, in fact 3 books but 2 are about handcrafting so I don't count them in the same category ;-) ).
ReplyDeleteI think that if I read only 1 book per week I have enough books on my tbr pile to last 13 years without bying a new book...
Awful, isn't it ?! ;-)
Of course it makes sense! :-) I have a huge TBR pile and I know I'll need a couple of years to get to all of them, but I can't help it, there is always one more book I have to have! :-P
ReplyDeleteI am the same way!! I love to get books. I must admit I am a sucker for a great cover !! There is just something about running your hand over a great cover that gets ya bookaholic blood flowing!!! lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Julie
Totally makes sense!! Is there another way?!?!!? :P
ReplyDeleteYep, yep, yep!!! Couldn't imagine myself with just 10 book in my TBR and having to wait until I read them to buy more. I would have panic attack!:P I like to be surrounded by books, be able to change my mind several times about what I want to read, touch them and admire them, lend them to my family and friends. Any bookaholic understand this and those who make comments like "why do you need more?" (how dare they?!!!LOL) don't know what they are talking about. :P
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I knew I was in good company!! :-)
