All About The Brontes Challenge

I'm decided to read more classics and after enjoying Agnes Grey so much I thought this was just the right challenge for me - All About The Brontes.

Challenge Details

1. The All About the Brontes challenge will run from January 1st to June 30, 2010. You can post a review before this date if you wish.

2. You can read a book, watch a movie, listen to an audiobook, anything Bronte related that you would like. Reading, watching, or listening to a favorite Bronte related item again for the second, third, or more time is also allowed.

3. The goal will be to read, watch, listen, to 3 to 6 (or beyond) anything Bronte items.

I have several books and movies in the TBR/TBS pile that could be used for this challenge:
The Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield (definitely a gothic tale in the vein of Jane Eyre)
Jane Eyre (BBC - 1970)
Jane Eyre (1983 miniseries starring Timothy Dalton)
Jane Eyre (1997 A&E movie)

And I could reread and rewatch too... I can't wait to start this one!

Read / Watched:
Jane Eyre (1983)
Jane Eyre (1973)
Jane Eyre's Daughter by Elizabeth Newark
Wuthering Heights (2009)

  1. Welcome among us Ana! I've read many books by the Brontes but not everything .So I decided to join the challenge to be stirred to read minor works and paraliterature. I'm also going to compare Jane Eyre different adaptations and to read The Wide Sargasso Sea. Well, I don't think I'll watch Jane Eyre 1970: after watching Emma 1972 I decided costume drama dating back to those years can be .. shocking and destabilizing. I happened to laugh when I wasn't meant to!
